Weak suction but Ultra loud

I bought the Dirt Devil Ultra to vacuum places difficult to reach with the crevice tool on the hose of our upright, but it does not do the job. Here is why:
1. The vacuum suction is pitifully weak, but the motor makes an Ultra ear-piercing noise.
2. The dirt collection bag is tiny and not designed to be re-used - yet, the unit came with no spares. Replacements cost about $4 each!
3. Removing/replacing the cloth cover so one can change the dust bag is unreasonably difficult.
4. It has no shoulder harness, so one hand is always tied up just holding it (precluding using it to move things so one can clean beside/behind them).
5. Switching from rotating brush to hose suction is difficult. Much of the precious little vacuum is lost in the over-sized, cumbersome "valve" that has no air-seal.
6. The power cord is only 20 ft. instead of the 25 ft. on my upright - necessitating the use of an extension chord.
Otherwise, it's a nice looking, mostly plastic gadget that is of little or no practical use to me.Lire l'avis complet...

A Powerful Little Beast!

It's really loud but I don't care if it works like this! It has a really powerful motor and beater brush! I had my old Dirt Devil for years and bought another when it finally died. This one is easier to use than my old one. You don't have to disconnect the belt to use the crevice attachment. Just pop it on and go! Hopefully it'll last as long as my last one. I use the Dirt Devil in addition to my bigger vacuum for hard to reach places.

The Dirt Devil is perfect for those hard to vacuum places in your house! The motor is strong and the unit has great suction! Perfect for doing any carpeted stairs in the house. This is my second dirt devil. They come with a 3 year limited warranty but I wouldn’t worry about it breaking too soon! My last Dirt Devil lasted 22 years! Very, Very Handy!!!

I truly love this item. I use it to go around the edges of my carpet. Thank you for having this. My first Dirt Devil Handheld Vac just stop working after having it for years.

Dirt Devil MD8230T Handheld Vacuum

I purchased this little vacuum because my regular size vacuum was not handle especially when cleaning inside my car. I was surprised of the many features it had like the pull out nozzle to get between the cracks in the car seat. I am also amazed at the power of this little vacuum cleaner. Thus far I have used it in my car and around the windows in my house. It's very light and does a good job on the rugs. We had the carpet pulled up a few years ago so we hardly have a use for the big powerful vacuum cleaner sitting in the basement. This Dirt Devil has proven to be quite a bargain and I couldn't be more pleased. I continue to find new chores that it can do like cleaning the filter on our central air conditioner. The previous owner must not have used this vacuum cleaner much because it looks good and does a marvelous job. Great product!

I have bought two of these for my housekeeping jobs and this does just what I need it to do. Great product for vacuuming stairs and small areas. Small, but powerful.

Finally. A handheld vacuum that works

This vacuum replaced a 25 year old B & D Handheld, and it was overdue! So nice to have one with good suction and seems to pick up the small grit pretty good.
I do wish the crevice tool was regular sized and/or the (too short) hose was regular size so that tools from other vacuums would work with this. Overall, a good machine for the money.Lire l'avis complet...

Great little helper!

Great little helper. easy to use and clean stairs without having to drag the regular vacuum which cant get the whole step anyway. Get our dogs hair out of the carpet well with the beater car that regular hand vacs don't have!Lire l'avis complet...
