Excellent Introduction to World's Religions
This is an excellent book for anyone from Junior High to Adults to acquaint themselves with the different world religions. Easy to understand. Hard to put down. And no "put downs" of any group. Gently, but factually written. There is a summary at the end of each chapter that compares that particular religion to Christianity. I will be using it for our Bible Study this spring. If you really want the bare bones facts without any hyperbole or sarcasm, this is the book to begin with. Great for discussions with anyone. As a Christian, it really opened my eyes to semantics used by cults that make you think you are talking about the same thing when you're really not. My "God" is definitely not the "god" of any cult claiming He is their's, too. I feel better "armed" for speaking with ... I feel better "armed" for speaking with people from other religions, my grandchildren, (my 14-yr-old granddaughter is reading it, now) etc. This book lead me to Josh McDowell's "Handbook of Today's Cults" which is more in-depth, includes examples of how Bible verses are twisted, and adds other religions. Also, Walter Martin's "Kingdom of the Cults" which gives more historical facts (court proceedings, etc.) and exactly where to find the information he uses so you know nothing is made up. Some is even from these religions own publications. I will be using them to augment our study. I just heard the comment, "God is a loving God, but He's not a wuss." There is a Hell and people will go there. I will be using these 3 books to try to keep that from happening for as many people as possible. Thank you for this opportunity to say something about a very fine book.

Good Concise Informative
This book gives a good explanation of the differing world religions. The author describes them in some detail, but not so much that you lose interest. He summarizes each religion and makes comparisons that simplify them. Many religions put on a dishonest front to the public. Their true beliefs are not obvious. It is written from a protestant perspective. I am a lifelong Lutheran (Missouri Synod). It follows the bible very accurately, though it does not get into the differences between protestant denominations. I recommend this to anyone who is curious about what other religions believe.This book gives a good explanation of the differing world religions. A must for any christian
This book explains the differences between evangelical Christianity and other religions in a logical, well-organized format. It discusses the origin of other religions and pseudo-Christian movements. It's interesting to read and easy to use as a reference tool.

what do you think you know?
Everyone who even thinks there might be a God should find out what is the differerence between the religions of the world. this book does a great job of explaining those differences. Is it a matter of eternal life and death?

I've enjoyed this Ridenour book.
This is perfect for what I was looking for; a Biblically Christian-based view of other world religions. The author does an admirable job in comparing various reigious in biblical context. This book answered and cleared up questions that I and my family have had.
