      A Great Live Performance from a Great Live Band!

      When I think of going to concerts as a teenager in the 70's, Blow Your Face Out brings it all back. The J. Geils Band was one of the best, if not the best, live acts to catch in the hallowed 1970's. They brought their badass, bar-band swagger to every packed arena and gave it all they had - every time. That energy is somehow captured here in this recording. From the opening "Southside Shuffle" to the closing "Give it to Me", this band tears through every song with a power and vengence that has not been duplicated. They were a better live band then in the studio (check out Full House too) - a rarity in the music business. I wore this album out as a teenager! Made Loud to Play Loud!

      Energy

      I gave this album a rating of good although by most accounts it probably deserves an excellent. What do I mean ? The J. Geils Band was one of the most energetic and entertaining live bands of the '70s. If this was the only Live recording done By the JGB I would give it an overwhelming Excellent rating. However, in 1972 just 3 years into their recording career JGB released a smoking one disc live set called "Full House" that displayed the band in all of their soulful glory. That brings us to this recording "Live- Blow Your Face Out" This is a slightly more stuctured double live album that was so common in the 1970's. However, this is the J. Geils Band Live and it delivers Rock, Soul, R&B and even Country in a way that only The J. Geils Band could. Add this ...

      Blow Your Face Out by The J. Geils Band LIVE

      I saw the J. Geils band 5 times back in the 70's and 80's. What a stage show!! Peter Wolf was captivating and the place was always rocking. If you ever saw a show you know what I mean. He paced the stage with that voice that went from a growl to a whisper. I went to hundreds of concerts and the Geils band was right up there with Van Halen(not Van Hagar) and yes I dare say it Pink Floyd. You walked out of the concert hall with a big smile on your face and in your heart. Sure I have it on LP and 8-track but this CD cranked in your car will make any drive shorter- promise.

      Get it

      OldSchool J Geils with plenty of saxophones and clarinet along with the keyboard it’s a magical experience we just don’t see CDs like this anymore this was originally a great double live album
