Classic Television at it's best
I loved the T.V. show when it was on and now I can go back and re watch the first 11 Episodes again and again. The show follow's Major Gregory (Pappy) Boyington and his group of misfit Marine fighter pilots during World War 2. The series is based on the life of Major Boyington a true Marine fighter pilot Ace. This is a Double-sided 2 DVD set of the 2 hour pilot and the first 10 1 hour episodes. You also get some NBC News Archives and Interviews with Major Gregory Boyington in the set. Robert Conrad (Wild Wild West) stars as Major Gregory Boyington and does a wonderful job. Also Stars Simon Oakland,Dana Elcar,John Larroquette,Dirk Blocker,James Witmore jr. "Black Sheep" will entertain and inform you and your Family about WWII. YES
Baa Baa Black Sheep was a pleasant look back at a fun (and semi-historical) TV Series. Robert Conrad always makes a great leading man, and although, as usual, Hollywood takes severe liberties with period and historical accuracy, many of the portrails and incidents mentioned are actually very accurate. The men of VMF-214 were in fact not really a bunch of drunken screwups, and Boyington created most of his own problems with the Flying Tigers, but he did in fact turn a unit of strangers into the best Marine Fighter Squadron in the Pacific. You'll enjoy the series if you take it as entertainment with a historical twist, then read about Pappy and VMF-214 to get the real, complete history - which is pretty amazing, without any additional Hollywood gloss. Buy this set and introduce your youngsters to a lighter, more fun version of history! Or just remember how much fun TV was before HBO.....

Cannell (as well as long-time TV scribes like Philip De Guere and Milt Rosen) that offered a enjoyable balance of humor and combat. The blend gets an excellent ... Fans of the series may question the decision to include only half of the first season's episodes in this set (the 1976-77 season ran for an additional 12 episodes before being dropped by NBC; the series was revived in late 1977, rechristened Black Sheep Squadron, and ran for an additional 13 episodes before being canceled in 1978), but the inclusion of the two-part pilot and interviews with the real Pappy Boyington (who served as the show's consultant and even cameos in the pilot) should appease any concerns. --Paul Gaita

A great TV series which should be watched for generations, simply awesomeTV
A rare find and so glad to recover memories from my youth, college years. Great show with a star that I later met at a charity event... Red West, the mechanic always in a growl with Pappy Boyington (Robert Conrad). The cigar-stoking mechanic is a former member of Elvis' crew of friends from Memphis who defended Elvis for things like, his music, his haircut. This show is great, not extremely violent, and enjoyable watching for Dads and sons... women don't usually care for the machine gun fire and downed planes action. Thank you ebay and ebay agent for carrying this precious series on DVD.A rare find and so glad to recover memories from my youth, college years. I am a WW2 buff and I watched Baa Baa Black Sheep as a teen these reruns bring back great memories.If you are a fan of the F4U Corsair it is great.
The box had normal wear but the cases and dvds were like new and I got a great price. If I could only get the rest of the set in the same way It would great. David
