I love nutrition, I've gone to nutritionists, but putting it in this kind of stuff that we recognize in our everyday lives with our families, is truly educational. This is great., Praise for Eat This, Not That! For Kids: "We are learning so much [from Eat This, Not That! and Eat This, Not That! With good knowledge in hand, the only other obstacle a parent faces is getting their kids motivated to carry out the advice in the book." --Amazon.com reviewer, Mark   "It is great that the book has easy to make substitutions and ideas to get the most nutrition you can out of a fast food meal. This is a great book for any family to keep in the car for those meals on the go. Everyone can make the most informed choice possible!" --Amazon.com review, Ramona Ferguson   "I absolutely love this book. I thought I was making healthy food choices before (and I was, for the most part). But this book opened my eyes to some shockingly bad food choices I was making. It also surprised me to find out how deceptively some food was marketed as healthy when it was anything but. (Organic "health food" cereal with as much sugar as a soda, for instance .. who would have thought?!!!)  I'm so glad I bought it .. you will be, too!  I was so impressed that I even bought extra for other family members!." --Amazon.com review, E. • Streamlined way to make better food choices for kids

This book is the same size as the yellow adult/original version of Eat This, Not That. Similar in that it is full of pictures, so you can take it with you and make choices as you're out in the world shopping and eating. Having a kids version gets them more involved too so they can be accountable and not just wondering why they're 15 pounds overweight. The main thing I like about calling it the kids version is that children can see for themselves what a difference they can make in their health by making wiser choices and small changes in baby steps. They don't have to change EVERYTHING all at once, but by reading and seeing the photos they can learn to choose better foods to give them health, not a big spare tire. Kids also like to hear things from sources other than their parents ...

  • AWESOME, simple to understand book, my kids LOVE it!

It's very easy to understand, has restaurants and foods that the kids know and love. It's SUCH an interesting book with short hints on what some of the bad foods do to your body, the reactions you go through when you eat white bread, etc. It gives you all the calories, fats, etc. in all of these foods plus all of the interesting health facts -- a lot I would have never known. And, what's more, the kids are READING IT RIGHT NOW! I never even handed them the book, they saw it and keep picking it up to read over and over, looking up their favorite places to eat and favorite foods and now they know what choices they are making that are good, which are really bad, and what to do to help fix it! The book also tells which kids (age ranges) are deficient in what areas, where they can find ...

  • Eat This Not That! for Kids!

This is a good book to get you thinking about reading labels. I was already a label reader, but this helped to prioritize sugars vs fats vs calories vs sodium. Sometimes an item might be higher in sugar but lower in fat than it's counterpart, this teaches you a hierarchy when comparing labels of like foods. My 11 year old daughter also enjoys flipping through the book and even points out the better choices at the supermarket! It also compares fast-food choices amongst various chains.

  • Eat This Not That! for Kids! by David Zinczenko, Matt G

Bought it for my granddaughter who is 10 - very easy to read - interesting tips - we enjoyed the information and look forward to using it together. A lot of the information will surprise you - we have spent the past hour playing guessing games regarding which food is better! This store has great prices to boot!

  • Great information

We use this book in our Family and Consumer Science class.
